W13 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

Hello everyone, this week, being the 2nd to the last week of this semester, I learnt a lot that really opened my mind to a lot of things and how to go about my career . I would say this course really gave me insight on a lot of things. This week i learnt about an attitude of gratitude, according to Elder Thomas S. Monson, when we reflect on our lives, we would discover much to prompt our personal gratitude. We have gratitude for our mothers, fathers, teachers, friends, our country and our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

I also learnt from identifying and exploiting the right entrepreneurial opportunity material that many entrepreneurs have pursued an idea that he or she believes would be a success, often with considerable zeal. Regrettably, ideas are not often grounded in economic realities. Realistic opportunities might also entice entrepreneurs into enterprises that take them to locations they don't want to go. Perhaps, they lack the necessary skill sets. Or the amount of time and travel involved is too much for their families. Alternatively, they may feel as if they are surrendering their ideals. There is an analytical framework for deciding whether your entrepreneurial idea is the proper opportunity for you based on where you are in life and where you want to go. It starts with an overview of entrepreneurship and ends with some thoughts on balancing an entrepreneurial career with a personal life, as well as the pursuit of possibilities in general.

I also learnt from the video, avoid the wrong job by Stan Christensen. According to him, people end up in the wrong job because of their unhelpful assumptions. Some of the assumptions are resumes, we often do things because we believe that is what other people want to see which is very wrong. Instead do things you have passion for and you will see people who have similar minds or those who appreciate your experience and are ready to find a place for you. Secondly, people take jobs that they hate and just set their mind to do it for maybe just a year or two just for them to get experience or for them to move to the next level. We are mighty to do jobs that we are happy doing, that we have passion for and we have fun doing it not the other way around.

In conclusion, I learnt that I should have an attitude of gratitude. I learnt how important it is to not just identify my opportunity without looking at how real it is. I also learnt that I should not just take a job so that I can please others or so that I can gain experience or money. When I know that I hate the job, I'm just forcing myself to work. Instead I should be real with myself, i should find a job that i am passionate about to help me build my career.
