W12 Entrepreneurial Journal

Hello everyone, this week based on the material “what's a business for”, virtue and integrity are so vital to an economy because it will help provide a way for the savings of society to be used for the creation of wealth. It is vital in the economy because it helps build trust between people in business because if one has integrity, you will surely do what is right and what is in the best interest of the consumer and your clients. This will help build the economy and make business go smoothly which will help the economy grow. According to Handy, the main purpose of business is not to make a profit, it is to make profit so that the business can do something more or better. That "something" becomes the real justification for the business existence. It is to produce profit so the people in the business can do what pleases them, their families, and others close to them and far away. The justification of business emerges as the ultimate north star bringing to a new unified ...

W11 Entrepreneurial Journal

Hello everyone, so I'm going to be talking based on my reflection on this week's article on “Attitude on money”. So let me start by answering the question, What is my attitude towards money? Money to me is a very important element that without it one can not survive. Some people say it is evil, some say it is not, some say it changes people. To me money is either good or bad, it depends on who and what the person uses it for and the person gets it. I feel money is not evil if you use it for the right reasons and if you get it the right way.  Apart from the fact that people are working towards heavenly goals, most people or let me say everyone works in order to get paid with money so that they can live and afford to take care of their needs. All our struggles are because we want to earn more. I like money to a moderate degree and I think wanting and having it is not evil, it is what you do with it or how you get it is what is good or evil. I think my view of money will affec...

Also think big don’t think little of yourself, do not over underestimate yourself , pursue your goals and dreams. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. And involve the Lord, you can do great things. You can do it, you can accomplish the goals and dreams that you set and if you involve the Lord, you can do the impossible, you can do amazing things you can do great things. Just like it says in good to great, it's a whole lot more fun to do great things than to just be good.  Or to ...

W09 Disciple Leadership

Hello everyone, this week I learnt a great deal from the materials and videos of this week on Disciple Leadership. From the video “Aspect of building trust”, Guy Kawasaki explained that “ Trustworthiness occurs when you first of all trust others . The sequence of events is that you trust people and they will trust you. The onus is upon you to trust first. ” To build trust, we have to learn to build our trust in others first especially when it comes to people we do business with. For the business to go well you have to trust each other and it starts with you trusting the person first. He also used an illustration of bakers and eaters, w hen an eater sees a pie, an eater is thinking, “Zero sum gain . I need to get as much of the pie as possible. My gain of the pie is your loss of the pie. I need to get as much of the pie as possible.” A baker by contrast sees the world as an opportunity to make more pies and bigger pies. Trustworthy people are bakers, not eaters and t hey see the wor...
